What the water brings
Jawai Bandh draws migratory flocks through the cool months. Flamingos wade the shallows in improbable pink lines; bar-headed geese arrive having crossed the Himalaya. Kingfishers work the edges all year.
The best hours
Early morning, before the wind picks up and the surface loses its mirror. Our naturalists carry scopes and a field list, and are just as happy identifying a lark as tracking a big cat.
Bring patience and a hat. The light off the water is generous but unforgiving.
